Originally from the West Midlands, Owen started playing acoustic guitar at age 8 and soon took up electric guitar and Bass guitar as well. As a teenager he joined the school orchestra playing Cello parts on Bass guitar and began performing with bands, playing original and cover versions of various genre's ranging from Jazz to Hard Rock at local venues, and also at the National Exhibition Centre (Birmingham) and Royal Festival Hall (London).

Owen graduated with an honours degree in Music Technology from the University of Glamorgan in South Wales in 2006, studying under Mike Howlett (producer 'A Flock of Seagulls', 'Tears for Fears', 'Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark' & more) where he also learned to play the Drums.

Since graduating, Owen has performed Bass guitar and Drums with bands ranging from Jazz to Indie rock to Technical Death Metal, and is currently settled in South Wales Heavy Metal band 'Triaxis' which he joined in 2008. The first Triaxis album “Key to the Kingdom” was self produced by Owen and released in 2009, featuring some tracks written by Owen and was self produced with Owen doing the production, engineering and mastering work. The album was distributed by 'Code 7 music' and published by 'Scarlet Songs LTD'.

This was followed up by a live tour DVD released in 2011 covering a UK tour in 2010 supporting Canadian metal band 'Kobra and the Lotus'.

Whilst unsigned, Triaxis regularly performed on short tours around the UK, ranging from Edinburgh and Glasgow down to London and Brighton. They also performed at large metal festivals including 'Bloodstock' and 'Hammerfest', with excellent reviews, and have been played on Bruce Dickinson's Rock Show on BBC radio 6. During this time, Owen also played Bass Guitar in for some local bands on UK tours and did some session recording work for them too.

In May 2012 Triaxis signed to 'Rocksector Records' based in Manchester for the release of their second album 'Rage & Retribution' (October 2012) again featuring some tracks written by Owen which was engineered by 'Chris Fielding' (Engineer: 'Napalm Death', 'Power Quest', 'Electric Wizard'). This led to the band being invited back to perform at 'Bloodstock' festival in 2012 and European tour dates following.

In the Summer of 2012, Owen was asked to play Bass Guitar at a one-off live show as part of Martin Walkyeir's Skyclad (ex Sabbat, Skyclad) in Nottingham. This involved learning 14 fairly complex songs within 1 month, then performing them after a few hours of rehearsal time.

In 2013, Triaxis released their first music video (YouTube) and have played on further European tour dates and festivals including Hammerfest (UK), SOS Fest (UK) and 'Wizzfest' (Belgium). So far in 2014 they have toured in the UK supporting 'Blaze Bayley' (ex-Iron Maiden) and also played at events in France & Belgium.

In April 2014, Owen began playing function events with South Wales rock covers band Subdriver.

When not performing with the band, Owen spends his time playing rock songs on the Ukulele and developing distance learning materials for a University.
